Information we may collect about you

Personal Information

Connect Humanity collects personal information — e.g. name, title, email address, mailing address, telephone number, social media information, demographic data — when you voluntarily choose to provide it to us.

This happens when you take actions like:

  • Apply for an employment opportunity via our website;

Other information we gather

We automatically collect information that does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity or directly relate to an identified individual. For example, we use Jetpack to understand how people visit and use our website. Jetpack may log IP addresses (which include location data), browser, operating system, visiting time (local and server), session, actions per visit, pageviews per visit, returning visitors, and referring site information.

We also use cookies to create a better experience for people using our website. A “cookie” is a tiny element of data that our site can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your device. If you are concerned about the use of cookie technology you may set your web browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or refuse cookies. There are also tools that allow you to block trackers on websites.

Financial Donations

If you choose to make a donation on our website, your credit card information will be used only for this transaction through our secure online payment system (GiveWP & Stripe). We do not retain credit card information. If you are interested in making a donation to Connect Humanity by another method, please email info@connecthumanity.fund.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information in line with the purposes for which it was gathered and always to progress our mission of advancing digital equity. For example, if you complete a grant readiness assessment form, we will use this data to help us consider your project for a grant. If you sign up for our email newsletter, we will use this to email you updates. Every email newsletter includes an unsubscribe option.

We may share your information, consistent with the purposes for which you provided it, with Connect Humanity entities, as well as representatives, consultants, and counsel we work with, who need access in the course of their assigned duties. We will not use personal information you provide to us in a manner inconsistent with the purposes for which you provided it to us.

We will not share it with any other parties without your explicit consent, except as compelled by law. And we will never sell or lease your personal information under any circumstances.

If we are required by law to disclose information you have submitted, we will attempt to provide you with prior notice (unless we are prohibited) that a request for your information has been made in order to give you an opportunity to object to the disclosure. If you do not challenge the disclosure request, we may be legally required to turn over your information.
