Bryan Woliner is Chief Financial Officer at Kiva, a nonprofit that expands access to credit for underserved entrepreneurs through crowdfunded microloans. He brings 20 years of experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors with a focus on impact investing and financial inclusion. Before joining Kiva, he spent 15 years at Root Capital, a social investment fund that has provided more than $2 billion in credit and advisory services to agricultural businesses worldwide, serving as CFO from 2018 to 2025 and managing a global finance and IT team across six countries.

Woliner joined as Connect Humanity’s board chair to advance its work supporting the 3.6 billion people worldwide who remain offline. He has spoken about drawing on Root Capital’s experience building a non-bank financial institution to help Connect Humanity navigate the challenges of scaling as a nonprofit impact investor working toward CDFI certification.

He holds an MBA and an MS in Information Systems from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Oberlin College.
