Jay Beekman is an Investments Consultant at Connect Humanity. His initial scope includes supporting the development of Connect Humanity’s Appalachia-focused digital infrastructure fund and conducting due diligence on select investment opportunities.
Prior to joining our organization, Jay was a Vice President on the Investment Advisory team at LOCUS Impact Investing. While at LOCUS, Jay designed, structured, and managed place-based impact investing programs and vehicles including the Invest Appalachia Fund and the Kansas City Credit Enhancement Fund. He also provided technical advice and services for a variety of community development finance transactions.
Most of Jay’s experience prior to LOCUS was in banking — both underwriting loans as a commercial banker at City National Bank and advising on M&A transactions as an investment banker at Harris Williams & Co.
Jay has a BA in Hispanic Studies and History from Boston College and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
