Appalachia Digital Accelerator
Washington County
Washington County is dedicated to ensuring access to high-speed internet for all residents, empowering them with the tools needed to thrive in today’s digital world. Through its Connectivity Plan, developed with the support of the Appalachia Digital Accelerator, the county outlines a multi-phase strategy to expand broadband access, improve affordability, and enhance digital literacy. These plans aim to foster economic growth, support education and healthcare, and build a more connected and resilient community.
The Washington County Connectivity Plan outlines a strategy to close the digital divide, focusing on building a robust fiber broadband infrastructure and addressing barriers to adoption. The plan includes targeted initiatives to connect unserved and underserved areas, foster public-private partnerships, and deliver programs to boost digital literacy and reduce costs. These efforts are designed to create a foundation for long-term connectivity solutions that support the county’s economic, educational, and social development.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners is proud to be a good partner to the Governor’s Office for Broadband Connectivity in the initiative to provide robust broadband access, to not only everyone here in Washington County, but in all of Southeast Ohio.
